The American Medical Association just held its House of Delegates Annual meeting in Chicago in person for the first time since 2019, and emergency medicine was well represented in election proceedings at the meeting. Marilyn J. Heine, MD, FACEP, was newly elected to the AMA’s Board of Trustees, and Stephen K. Epstein, MD, MPP, FACEP, was re-elected to the Council on Medical Service. With emergency physicians in these prominent roles, emergency medicine is well positioned to leverage this strong voice in the house of medicine to advocate for improvements for the profession.
