Workforce Update
ACEP shares your concerns about the EM workforce landscape and is working to lead the specialty into the future. The final EM workforce report from the multiorganizational task force, including ACEP, the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors, the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association, and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, will be published this spring. ACEP hosted private and public summits in early April to discuss the findings of the task force and strategies for a path forward. In an all-member email sent on April 15, ACEP identified eight key considerations we are committed to addressing. In our ACEP4U column in the May 2021 issue, the ACEP Board explains those commitments in greater detail.

Harry W Severance, MD, FACEPIt is critically important that we provide an enriched opportunity work environment for EP’s at all stages in their careers.
