The Army also offers graduate health care education and can help you study for a specialty (emergency medicine, in this case) through the Specialized Training and Assistance Program (STRAP), which offers a $2,088 monthly stipend to cover living expenses while you are in a civilian residency program. While in residency, you can apply for and be awarded a commission and enroll in STRAP as an Army Reservist.
