- A.J. Reed, MD, member since 1969, founded Kansas chapter in 1972 and served as its first President.
- Samuel Slimmer, MD, FACEP, member since 1968.

- Judith E. Tintinalli, MD, MS, FACEP, first woman to serve as program director for an emergency medicine residency program, in 1991; first woman to chair the American Board of Emergency Medicine, in 1989–1990; founding President of the Council of Emergency Residency Directors; and Editor-in-Chief of the world’s best-selling emergency medicine textbook.
