Glenn Ekblad, DO, MPH, MSN, FACEP, FAAEM.Easter, April 21, 2019; I never had the honor of meeting or learning from Dr Trish Blair, however your comment “Dr Trish Blair: The Impact of True Leadership is Never Lost” reminds me of those few amazing mentors who I had in my life who shaped my destiny. By stories and their actions I learned how to be a better military leader. Following 33 years and two months of military service, it was because of my leader mentors that those of us who worked together were able to accomplish what we did. Working in over 12 foreign nations, helped to solidify those lessons. “Lost, but not forgotten” is now just a phrase, it is a call to duty. Well Done Dr Trish Blair and God’s speed. Louise B Andrew MD JDThank you, Glenn, and to ACEP for for publishing this article.
Trish was indeed an inspirational mentor who was lost, but will never be forgotten by those who were touched by her. I think of her whenever I believe a challenge is insurmountable.

Dr, Vasily AfanasievDear colleagues, May 7, 2019
With all my sorrow and grief, I read the memory notes dedicated to Dr, Trish Blair, written by Dr Andrew.
My close friend Dr Gary Green from Baltimore sent them to me, and I was deeply touched by this sad news.
I also decided to express my warm appreciation to the memory of Dr. Trish Blair, because she will always stay in my heart, and in memories of many other Russian doctors who have a chance to meet Trish sometime.
Once upon a time Dr Trish Blair with the group of emergency physicians visited St. Petersburg, and the Institute of Emergency Medicine for the USA-Russian Conference.
Later on, in 1989, Dr. Trish Blair invited and sponsored the visit of several Russian and Georgian physicians to come to US and to observe the Western manner of practicing medicine. I was among this group, and this really remarkable event started my relations and friendship with American physicians.
Trish showed us Hospitals in California, Trauma Centers, organized meeting and symposiums with US doctors, and especially for me Trish organized a meeting in San Francisco PCC with the team of toxicologists, where I met Kent Olson, John Osterlon(?) and later with Jeff Brent, and of course with Michael Kosnett who became my very dear friends and colleagues for many years.
Since that long times ago, from 1989, I visited US several times, participated in ACEP Meetings, became a member of the Society of International Advancement of Emergency Medical Care, and with the help of my new-old friends get Merck International Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology, which was an extraordinary event in my life (it is funny, but I still keep my shirt with the label of the Society of International Advancement of Emergency Medical Care).
So far, it was Trish Blair who gave me “the launch”, and made the possibility of my close friendship with Dr. Gary Green, Michael Kosnett, Jeffry Brent, Ted Harrison – and many other wonderful people.
Memories of Trish Blair have always been hart warming for me, and the news of her passing away shocked me, and arise very warm reminiscences which I decided to share.
Thank you for your attention,
Sincerely,
Dr. Vasily Afanasiev
